9/24 Earth Science update and homework due 10/1

Hi folks,

Today in class, we did a bit more work on trying to get a handle on how science is actually done. The main focus of today's class was a learning about variables and how important, and difficult, they can be to control during an experiment. To do so, we did two experiments using pendulums. In each experiment we changed a variable to see how that change affected the outcome.
