Hi everyone!
We finished off our planets block today by making a scale model of our solar system using a roll of toilet paper. The student's were first asked to make their best guess at the distance of the planets on the toilet paper scale and then they saw the actual distances. Some groups were fairly close, but most had estimates that were quite a bit off. Next week we will use today's data to calculate the percentage errors of their estimates.
Homework for this week is to break out all those old quizzes and study for next weeks test. We will be doing an hour long test that will cover material from the entire year. Each question will be taken from old quizzes so if you study all the quizzes, you should be in good shape.
Good luck!
Jim Mueller
PS, No recording this week since most of the week was outside.
PSS. I'm sorry but I can't send the video we watched today. It's on FaceBook but not on YouTube so I can't figure out how to send it. Feel free to join my Science Jim FaceBook page if you wish.
