Correction to Earth Science homework for this week.

Hi folks,

Somehow the end of my original email got cut off at the bottom.  Here is the complete email without the .pdf file.

Science Jim

Hi folks,

For class today we spent a bit of extra time to clarify concepts and make sure what we've discussed in this block is clear.  For our lab today, I had the students conduct a "Consumer Reports" style research project.  Each group had to test four different brands of diaper to see which one held the most water.  It was up to them to come up with their own hypotheses and methods of research.

For homework this week:

Use the enclosed "Lab Report Template" to write up the lab we did today in class.

Be sure to include answers to the following questions in the "methods" section of the lab report.
How did you define when the diaper was full?
How did you pour the liquid; fast, slow, right in the middle, spread it out?

For the conclusion, discuss not only your data, but compare to the class averages for each diaper.  Was your data higher or lower than the average?  Can you come up with a hypothesis that could be tested to find out why your data was different from others?
